Cure inhibition is a phenomena causing partial or incomplete cure ofplatinum catalyzed compounds. This phenomenon is characterized by agummy or oily interface between the compound and the offendingmaterial. Typically most of the compound cures, there are rare, severecases where the compound does not cure whatsoever.
不固化现象是由于聚合物中部分或全部的铂催化剂中毒失效引发的,这种不固化现象的原因是由于聚合物与接触面之间有胶粘剂或油性有害物质的存在。这种典型的完全不固化的现象是很少有的。
Causes and/or offending materials. i.e. poisons to platinum

Eliminating or preventing cure inhibition:

Cure inhibition can often be prevented by trying one or all of the following:

- Use heat to cure the material immediately after dispensing. This will speed the
Reaction allowing the material to cure before the platinum can be poisoned.

Prime or barrier coat, offending materials from the above list.

Solvent wash offending material, followed by alcohol rinse and post bakes.

Switch to a condensation curing compound. These compounds do not use platinum and thus are not affected by any of the above.

While inhibition can be an issue when addition curing materials areapplied over condensation curing materials, the reverse is not true.i.e. once cured an addition cured compound can be exposed to any of theabove materials with no effect. The exception would be soaking in somesolvents which would cause swelling if exposure were prolonged.
